TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Acceptance of Order
As our client, it is your responsibility to check all the details of your order are correct and that the goods are suitable for your requirements, including all product dimensions/details and delivery information when we send through your order acknowledgement email.
As a specialist item it is important that you take care of your artwork in an appropriate manner. Please take care when hanging/placing your artwork to avoid direct sunlight or to have artwork within damp conditions, which may compromise the quality of the mediums used or materials over time. We are unable to be held responsible for the condition of artwork after your 14 day cooling off period expires. We are happy to provide comprehensive advice on safe storage and hanging on request.
Our international clients are responsible entirely for the payment of any and all applicable import duties and taxes and Penny Black Gallery Ltd are unable to provide formal advice on this.
Every effort is made to ensure that prices are correct at the time of publication but should an error has been made, we or you may cancel the order subject to the terms indicated under section 4.
We reserve the right to change prices without notice up until the time you have placed your order.
For purchases made out of gallery (online or by phone) you have the legal right to cancel your order up to 14 days after receiving the goods. This comes into effect from the day after taking delivery or collecting the artwork. This right of cancellation, however, is not applicable to any goods that are commissioned or bespoke (including framing from standard ‘as seen online’ framing). Please seek confirmation of if your order is considered commissioned or bespoke if you are unsure at the time of purchase. 5. Dispatch and Delivery
All artworks are sourced from published and independent artists and due to the nature of this relationship, dispatch times to the gallery for orders of works we do not have physically in stock, but available to us, may vary. Our aim and agreement with our artists is to have all standard, non-commissioned works of art dispatched via our own delivery service or courier within 2 weeks of the date of purchase. Most artworks will be with you within 2 weeks of order, however it is worth discussing this with your art consultant upon order. Specific works, including hand embellished canvases, originals and commissions are very likely to have an extended lead time which can be confirmed at/shortly after purchase.
Delivery will be via our own delivery drivers, specialist artwork couriers, general couriers or Royal Mail. Artwork will be professionally couriered and photographed before being sent, when possible, to ensure a record of complete integrity of the artwork can be ascertained. All artworks should be checked within 2 days of delivery and in the unlikely event of a damaged artwork should be reported as so to the gallery immediately to ensure swift rectification of the situation.
6. Likeness of Artwork and Framing
Using industry leading production methods to produce our limited edition prints we are extremely confident that our reproductions are as close in likeness as possible to their original however please note artworks may not appear the same colour/tone as seen on the website or as seen by your monitor settings.
Our natural wood frames do have naturally occurring instances of what may be seen as blemishes within their look, such as small knots that can appear as ‘dents’. These are not considered to be defective and are an unstoppable effect of working with natural wood.
7. Investment Potential
Here at Penny Black Gallery we pride ourselves on working with some of the finest names in the domestic and international art scene. We tend to work with professional, long-appreciated and highly collectable names with serious acclaim within the industry. We also have a strong record of finding and promoting emerging names and enjoy working with those finding their feet in their career, much as we like working with clients beginning their collections. We do our best to work with artists with a potential to provide a sound financial investment for our clients, but first and foremost focus on producing and sourcing artwork that will be enjoyed for years to come. As a gallery our policy is not to sell artwork as ‘investment opportunities’ and although this is an added bonus to collecting artwork – we do not profess nor claim we shall sell works to you with a definitive ability to rise in value. We are able to offer or advise on insurance valuations on artworks at any time.
